Connecting the WebEX to an end-user client 100 instead of 001

Former Member

Hi, I have successfully set up the WEBEX for a BI 7.0 system where both the ABAP WAS, JAVA WAS and Portal reside on the same system.

However, Im having the following problem, when the BI consultant runs the WEBEX application and he logs on to client 001. I have tried to change the reference system from 001 to 100 on the portal under SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION - > SYSTEM CONFIGURATION -> UME Configuration but the j2ee engine does not come up properly so I have to go to the configtool and revert the settings for the client back to 001.

Also in the User Administration there are UME users and ABAP users, but the ABAP users are from client 001.

How can I get the end-user client 100 connected to the portal so that the webex reporting and users are linked to client 100

Any assistance in this regard will be highly appreciated,

Kind regards,

Razia

Hi, thanks for your input, I created all the required users and made the change in the

http://ttaf-sap-bwp.ttaf.co.za:8000/index.html

I then chose UME configuration & changed the client to 200 ran the test connection which was successful.

I than ran stopsap & startsap and now get the following problem

When i try to access the portal I can get into the potal but when I goto

http://ttaf-sap-bwp.ttaf.co.za:8000/ijr/portal ->

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION -> SYSTEM CONFIGURATION -> UME CONFIGURATION ->

I get the following error message : You are not authorized to use the UME config editor

Then when I try to goto

http://ttaf-sap-bwp.ttaf.co.za:8000/index.html -> SAP NETWEAVER ADMINISTRATOR

i get the following error message : SYSTEM LANDSCAPE DIRECTORY IS NOT ACCESSIBLE

SELECT SYSTEMS BEFORE PROCEEDING

Please advise how I can overcome this problem

You assistance is most highly appreciated,

Razia

Does your user have the required authorizations? Is it part of the SAP_J2EE_ADMIN group? Is the user assigned to a role that contains UME.Manage_All?

As far as the SLD goes, I am no expert. I suggest you take a look at the SLD documentaion:

Razia,

When you change the client, I am guessing the system does not come up, because your service users are in client 001. If you want to change the client, the documentation has a procedure for that:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/db/8b9b801df84aaaa76bdbcbc0b9725f/frameset.htm

Though in your case I am guessing you will have to go to the procedure for changing the back-end system:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/03e11edc6a6e99e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
