Dear All,

I am stucked in a strange situation.

I installed IDES 4.6C on oracle 9, while applying support packs, i got stucked in IMPORT_PROPER stage.

From here, its not going further. Whenever i run it failes, it dont't even update the logs.

Also it shows a message, that open extraction requests are there ,please process.

In transaction LBWE, it shows me some entries.

I have already deleted the setup tables.

I am not able to move ahead from here.

Any suggestions on this..!!!

Rgds,

NK

hope it may help you.

check whether the standard background jobs are running or not (RDDIMPDP) which is responsible for importing. If they are running check user DDIC locked or unlocked.

plz reply

Cannot check it, as while running some transactions it gives me error: saying syntax error in program SAPLSKBH.

Due to support pack import some programs hacve changed..

^^ you could check with operating system user <sid>adm:

> cd /usr/sap/trans/bin

> tp checkimpdp <SID> pf=TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL

the output should be something like this:

System <SID>: Background job RDDIMPDP is scheduled event periodic.

(if the config file is still TPPARM use this instead of the PFL file..)

still have a look using sm37 for the rddimpdp needs to be scheduled for each client seperately!!

Yes, the output is as expected.

But, i would like to say we are going in a different direction.....tp is not the problem.

Support packs has changed some programs and in turn they are having an impact on it.

As you in my first post, i said that the import logs are not updated, as its not even reaching that stage...

Its termination before that only...

I know this is a weird situation....

Really need a solution to work this thing out....

Appreciate ur inputs...

which log files are we talking about? SLOG, ALOG & ULOG? or the corresponding transport logs? anything found under /usr/sap/trans/tmp?

Yes, the SLOG, ALOG files...

Nothing of current date under /usr/sap/trans/tmp.

Hello,

In SLOG, you should find which support package failed. Please include the error part and I believe some BASIS support package has failed. That's why the SPAM will be hanging and you will see shortdumps for many transactions.
