hai after importing IDOC from R/3 system ,how to add additional fields to the IDOC

Hi,

Steps to add the fields into IDOC.

Goto WE31 and there create the Z segment and add the required fileds.

Goto WE30 to create the extended IDOC to the standard IDOC.

Goto WE82 to create the Output type and Assignment to Idoc type.

Assign the message type to IDOC type in BD69.

Hi,

A Field can be added to the IDoc at the R/3 Level only. IF you add a new field to IDoc structure at XI level , Once the IDoc generated from R/3 The IDoc cannot containa the values for the newly added fileds.

So, try to add the new fields at the R/3 Level and import the metadata into XI i.e using Tcode idx2.

Hi,

What ever the fields you want to add , add those in R/3 itself and Re=import the IDOC and Re-import the Metadata also in IDX2

You can add the fields in XI level also, by exporting the IDOC and open it in notepad . add the fields what ever u want and import that under external definitions in IR.

But when u trigger the IDOC from R/3 , the newly added fields will not be filled by the values.....
