Hello,
A project lifecycle can be described broadly as:
Project Initiation> Project Planning(includes structure, cost, staff planning)> Project Execution--> Closure
Throughout the life, project monitoring and control is required.
Mapping in SAP:
Creation of Project for quotation purpose>Preliminary planning> Quotation and pricing> Sales Order- order received>Detailed planning> Accruing of cost through material and time hours> Period End closing for control and reporting> Delivery from project> Billing--> Closure
Integration with FICO-- Cost planning/ budgeting/period end closing- RA, settlement, cost postings, billing
Intergation with MM-- PR, PO, Good issue, Project stock, Service procurement
Integration with PP-- Production order for network, BOM transfer, assembly processing
Integration with IM-- Investment projects for AuC creation, WBS as investment measure
Integration with SD-- Revenue planning, assembly processing, billing, delivery
Integration with PM-- Maintenance order with WBS assignment
I have tried to describe the vast and complex area of PS integration in a nutshell. It is very interesting and challenging at the same time.
Thanks,
Sourabh
