The error is:-
"404 Not Found
SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.10 / AS Java 7.10
The requested resource does not exist.
Details: Go to main page of this application!"
I would appreciate your great help.
It lloks like you have installed the Netweaver 7.1 J2EE engine, but not the "Portal"
Which source files did you use?

What I mean is that when you installed the Portal did you use original DVD distributed by SAP, or downloaded DVD's from marketplace. If so, did you run the "sapinst" program to install the system? During the installation "sapinst" asks you for the various installation CD/DVDs. It is those CD / DVDs that I am refering to. All media distributed by SAP has a unique number, usually 510xxxxxx This number is printed on the front of the CD / DVD or, in case of dowloaded files, it can be found in the LABEL.ASC file.
Please list these CD / DVD numbers, so that we can see if the correct media was used.
Hi,
Basically I have downloaded the 90days trail version of JavaEE server for the Netweaver CE 7.10 from the sdn website. As you said I have found the LABEL.ASC file and it is having the follwing data written in it. I haven't got a clue about what it means.
CE71_03_IM_WIN_I386_ADA
CE71_03_JAVA_EXPORT
CE71_03_JAVA_J2EE_INST
CE71_03_JAVA_J2EE_OSINDEP
CE71_03_JAVA_J2EE_OSINDEP_UT
CE71_03_JAVA_JDMP
K_CE71_UI_WINDOWS_I386
MAXDB_WINDOWS_I386
FWK_710CE_TOOLS_WINDOWS_I386
Thanks a lot for your help.
kind regards,
Phani Yarlagadda.
Hi Phani,
It looks like you installed the Composition Environment, which indeed comprises a Java Engine, but no Portal. You should be able to reach the application through your browser using <a href>http://<your_host>:<your_port></a>. So without the "/irj/portal" extension, since this extension is just for the Enterprise Portal.
For more information about the CE 7.1, what it does, can do and can't do, please refer to the documentation you can find on SDN.
I hope this clarifies some things.
Henk.
