The client is a commercial, organizational unit within the R/3 System, with its own data, master records, and set of tables.

From a business perspective, the client forms a corporate group

Client is the instance in SAP.

For eg:

Client 200 - Development client, where Abappers would do coding / like a sandbox

Client 300 - Customization Client, where do you customization pertaining to client business.

Client 500 - Quality Client - Where you do your testing before Go-live

Client 700 - Production - Where the end users use the SAP system as per real time scenario.

Hope this is clear.

Reward points if helpful.

Hi

In previous question of yours about instance, i explained different systems like development, testing, integration testing, production. So in this each system you may have different parts. e,g, for configuration you have development client 100 and for configuration you have client 200. Same can be done to any system according to need.

Kind Regards
