Could not perform client copy in Production Client

I am in the process of production system installation for nW2004s System

I have created a new client called 100 and when i tried to do a Client copy, I could not do that. It is giving the message taht Client copy cannot be done in PRoduction client.

So pls tell me the steps of how to bring the roles, users in Client 000 to Client 100

Client 100 is going to be the Bw Client

Hi,

Follow this step for client copy

create client in 100 by login through 000 as it is fresh installation.

while creating client dont give role=production, give it as customizing or test like that and check.

login to client 100 through sap* and password "pass"

goto SCCL txn and select the profile sap_all, and go ahead.

i think u are aware of this steps.

if still problem continues paste the log messge.

But since it is my first production installation tell me this

Is this of how we do production System installations (by changing the client to test adn making client copy and then agian changing to PRoduction.

is that you are installing NW4s 700 release ?

what is the release you have installed?

If its a new installation

login to 000 and Create new client xxx in SCC4 ( dont give any role now )

then login to xxx with sap*/PASS

--> Client copy(SCCL) 000 -> xxx with profile SAP_CUST

so my understanding is create a client with test role , do the client copy then change that client to production client

Yes ..

Again, You dont have to give any role when creating a client in SCC4, you can give the role after completing the client copy ( SCCL ).
