Click on Refresh button timely. for your clarificatrions

A program can send an update request using commit work to the update work process, where it is processing, The program waits for the work process to finish the update.

Hello Veera,

May be all update processes are occupied. Please check that in Sm50.

Also check if you have a database level deadlock via transaction DB01.

Hi Veera,

One of the rarest would be that no update processes are exisiting. But this is all too theoratical. I mean are you facing any issue in your system ?

Hi veera,

Update processes held in waiting should be caused by deactivated update process. From my point of view the most often reason of deactivated update is full tablespace. Full filesystem or tablespace on maxsize etc. simply database cannot allocate more space, typically ORA-1653 in database alert log and sap system log (Oracle database). The solution is to solve the problem with database, add new datafile etc. and than activate update in SM13.
