Hi,
How to load the metadata in XI?
--> Goto tcode IDX2 --> click on new icon --->
give IDOC Type and Message Type details --> Press Ok to upload the metadata in XI.
Just for info....
If you have imported the IDOC in IR then at first time the IDOC will process the metadata will be internally created so there is no need of doing it manually
How many types of Cache is there in XI?
-->
There are 2 types of caches.....
CPA cache - is your Collaboration profile agreement cache, ie to mean it will contains the cache copy of all objects created during configuration time (ID).CPA (Collaboration profile agreement )Cache-mainly for J2EE engine/Adapter engine.

Runtime cache - it will contain cache copies of all the objects in XI (IR/ID)
and active version of all your objects during runtime.
Check this.......
sxi_cache - this tcode is used to manually refresh the cache and also to view the status of the objeccts in the cache. (/people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/12/02/sxicache--ripped-off)

What are the different types of fault message types are there in XI?
--> Fault message types are designed for application-specific errors that occur on the inbound side and that are reported back to the sender or persisted in monitoring.
But if you want for Asynch messages we can use this type of messages only for an asynchronous ABAP server proxy is persisted for monitoring. In the case of asynchronous of Java server proxies, the fault message is part of a negative application acknowledgement.
