Uploading data from Legacy System to SAP (In PS Module)

While Implementing Project system Module, Whether LSMW is applicable for uploading data from Legacy sytem. If not, then what is the method used for uploading the data from Legacy sytsem to SAP

LSMW is a very useful tool for uploading Master Data during Implementations. As the ABAPers would also have several requests from functional consultants, it would be a good practise if functional consultants use LSMWs to upload their basic master data.

We can use LSMWs for several reasons in PS module to upload WBS elements, Activities, Work centres, Activity types, Settlement rules etc.

If you need to upload open projects before Go-live, LSMW can be very helpful to update the costs to respective WBS elements..

For creating/uploading the master data from legacy system to SAP we either use below options

1. BDC (recording)

2. BAPI

3. ALE iDoc.

I would sugguest you to use BAPI and there's already this post which explains few details about the BAPI:
