Hi Frds
What is mean by WBS(Work Breakdown Structure)?
Thanks
Pari Vendhan.R
Hello,
WBS is breakdown of a project into logical smaller managed entities with following objectives:
1. To improve cost estimates
2. To collect and organize cost
3. Performance measurement and control
So in SAP PS, a project definition will contain many WBS elements. Each with a person responsible and organizational units assigned to it. Since a project can span across global boundaries, you can have different business areas, co cd and different plants in WBS.
WBS elements can be arranged together in hierarchical relationship with each other along different levels.
Hope above helps.

Full form of WBS in itself answers your question.
Speaking in layman terms, it is breaking down the total scope of work into one or many smaller packages, doing so makes the handling of functions like responsibility, planning, execution and control easier.
