how to import language in SRM5.0 non unicode system

hi gurus!

my client wants me to install chinese and french language for thier demo purpose in SRM5.0.

i have downloaded the language packs required for that., but they are not in car/sar format. where in SMLT its asking in car/sar format

please assist me in this

Hi .In Path write the full way example (
servername\d$\language\LANG2) d$ is your drive LANG* is the folder there your language . Press find language.

i tried that too..but its looking for CAR extension only..is there any other solution

If you correctly will specify a way up to a file which lays on your server (not frontend search) and then press

" Find packages" all will be good --> in my place the file is --> RUNW04S2.PAT

I do not understand in what at you a problem.

you create in se38 --> RSCPINST french language?

then you go to smlt and create the french language -->

then press the import package and in Path write the way to folder like

servername\d$\language\LANG1

then press "Find Packages".

in Available languages see the french language (If correctly will specify a full way)

Then choose or "Start on instance" or simply press Execute

Wait transport.

in rz10 create the zsca/installed_languages (in my case ER --> Eng+ Russian)

Restart the server.

what the thing was iam accessing the server in US frm india. I have downloaded the files to my desktop.Now what path should i have to give? should i have to download the files on client server? just clear me on that.

Now you have both the options. You can upload from front end or from the server.

I do not know as to make correctly under the note, but try so:

You need the sapcar , i'm think you have it.

1) In RUN --> CMD Go to the folder there put the *.pat file.

2) write the command for sapcar like this F:\install\sapcar -cvf FR.SAR FRNW04S2.PAT

this create the FR.SAR archive then in SMLT "find in frontend" appload this SAR archive.
