Hi

if u will use the FTPS protocol then it will be secure communication n you also have to exchange thecertificates b/w both the servers.

if u will use the FTPS protocol then the main requirement is that the FTP server that u will at the sender side as well as at the recericer side sholud have the FTPS protocol .

there should be compatibilty b/w both the servers.

Thanks

Hi

if you use the FTP server then u have to install the FTP server .

n while configuring the file adapter u define the directory of the FTP adapter.

u can also use the NFS protocol but in that case it is ur external system directory.

in the directory field u define the external system directory.

Thanks

Hi richa

if you are uploading the file from any external server then you have to use transport protocol as FTP.

Rich,

You need to install FTP Server in order to pick those files. Use something like Guild FTP...

Hi Rich Yes You need to instal an FTP server

You can use Windows publishing service IIS ( Internet Information service free with the OS )

or instal a third party FTP server like GuilDFTP or WinFTP

For GuildFTP find the following site

Hi All,

1. So I need to install FTP Server in my Sender File Server

so that XI can read file from that server.

Do I need to install FTP Server in my Receiver File Server

also?

2. I want secure connection as this is secure file.

Can I use FTPS. There is an option of Connection Security -- FTPS (FTP using SSL) in FTP Comm Channel.

How to use this. Kindly send a blog/link for this secure FTP

Or any other way to send secure file.

Regards

Hi,

If you want to place the file in XI Server Folder and want to pick and drop the files means , you have to use NFS always.

When ever the File system is FTP Configured only you can use FTp protocol
