We see on the "device maintenance" ->mobile components
that deployed component has a status "deployed successfully".
However on the device we cannot find it.
In our building no wireless is allowed (e.g. no one can use
a cell phone because the wireless signal is totally not
working -- i.e. muted). Do you think that is the reason the device did
not actually receive the deployment?
Thanks!
As far as I know.... If you do not activate the "Link on MI Homepage" checkbox during Application Upload (when you deploy it on the server) the application will be downloaded to your device (stored in webapps folder) but is not shown on the MI Homepage of the device.

Enzo

Hi Laura,
a mobile signal is no necessary if you connect to the server in a wired way. So the question is: how do you connect?
If the Mobile Admin tells, the app was deployed - well, do you really look into the correct device in the NWA?
Check if the DEVICE_NAME is the same!
Other then that please check the WEBAPPS folder if the app is there. It could be that there was an error at upload of the app to the middleware.

Oliver

Oliver:
Thank you for your reply.
However
1) the device is NOT connected to the MI in a wired way. Suppose it can be deployed via wireless, right?
For example, when the users are in the field while we want to deploy some application to their devices.
2) where is the WEBAPPS folder ?
Thanks again!
Hi,
well, to check the landscape ...... no, other way round: what is the type of device? Laptop or PDA? Do we talk about WLan or GPRS? but yes, at the end we communicate via HTTP - so as long as you can access the J2EE Server Homepage, usually it is fine.
The Webapps folder can be found in the MI Installation folder. On a Laptop in:
c:\program files\SAP mobile infrastructure\webapps
on a PDA in
\MI\webapps
But easiest test: open the browser and try to access the web page of your J2EE server.

Oliver
Hi Laura,
well, a reason could be a wrong upload. So the still open quesiton on my site: is the app deployed to the webapps folder?
What version of MI are you using?
And: I am back on MSN or Skype this afternnon. Fell free to contact me there, so we can sort that out in a few minutes - no problem. but I am traveling back to the office until 4pm CET today.
Regards,
Oliver
