Default value for characteristic in DMS

Hi everyone.

In SAP DMS i have used a characteristic of type Date format.

My requirement is to have a default value for this characteristic (todays date).

Do let me know if there is a solution.

Hi

I feel you can see the changed date of DIR

hence there is hardly any need of having that as todays date....

Status log can also give you when Status was changed and by whome...

aslo enabling content version will help you to track any changed document during any status of operation.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but our requirement is to have a document review date. While I think there is some corresonding functionality in engineering change management, I felt just having a simple date entered via classification would be easier. Opinions/ideas?

Hi Vivek,

As per my knowledge there is no such key/tab while defining characteristic value, to define today’s date by default. For that we have to make manual entry in the form dd.mm.yyyy. (T code: CT04 in value tab) and should click on D (default).

Create DIR, click Classification Tab Call for created class and enter, then select the values in characteristic to be viewed.

I would like to know this as well. It would be nice if there were a relevant function module that could do this. Or a calendar selection would be nice.
