Using versions as one of the PO output condition

Hi all! I am trying to output changed PO differently from a new PO. As such, I am trying to find an appropriate field to use as a condition in configuration BBP_PO_ACTION_CONF. I am thinking of using the version number but understand that this is not available in the list of fields given. Has anyone had similar requirement and what field do you use in this case? Is there no other way of introducing a custom field to be added to this list so that we can complete the condition definition?

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Use standard (i.e. date) or version number. Will have to add field to the business object for the latter.
