If one materail in same location with different location type, how to move it in differnt locaiton type ? does it create TO ?

Hi all

First of all movement type 309 is a IM movement type for material to material transfer.

If we are talking about a st type to st type transfer or bin to bin then transaction LT01 mvt type 999 will do that but I refer to my earlier posting Alice is talking about location type to location type which does not make sense.

It is eitherf Storage Location or Storage Type and there is a massive difference between the two as one is in IM and the other is in WM so lets not guess about what they are asking lets ensure that the messages are clear and concise otherwise we will just go round and round in circles

Thanks, I hope to check storage type in WM. If we setup same location for two storage type ,

like locaiotn a type as B and C, how to move material between this ?

for doing the bin to bin transfer or doing the transfer from one storage type to other you need create a warehouse movement type for that like WM movement type 309 and in that movement type mention the source and the destination storage type and also mark the manually allowed TO creation and in the requirement type mention wherhouse supervision.

Your question is not toatlly clear...

Please clarify what do 'location' and 'location type' mean? Do you think of 'bin' (WH>storage type>bin) and 'stock category' (e.g. 'unrestricted', 'blocked')?

If you want to change the stock category you can execute the booking first in IM and this will generate a Posting Change notice in WM. TO has to be created.

You can set SAP to create the relevant TO automatically.
