If I have two fields eg. Address1 and Address2 (both free text), what solutions are available for ensuring the data in the Address 2 field remains usable and not just misc over flow data from Address 1 field? What tools are available to me to fix the corrupt data in Address 2 field? Finally, what would be some recommended implentation solutions?
Ricky Frank,
Naming fields Address1 and Address2 call for trubles.
In such a case it would be better to specify street address, city, state, postal code, as field names.
Different countries may have different naming conventions for address elements.
see http://www.upu.int/ for additional details about standard address elements in different countries.
Suitable fields names will ensure that data could be entered in a consistent way, and could be supported by rules to verify the data (lookups for states, validations to format of postal code and so on).
But if you are looking for the ultimate solution, you can add address cleansing and standardization using 3rd party tools for CDI, using MDM-EC (enrichment controller).
Additional information can be provided if this is relevant.

Edna
