Smartform u0096 SO10 Vs Text Elements for Lang translation

Hi,

I have lot of text elements to be created in smartform, which needs to be translated in different languages. I would like to know the best approach. Is it better to create S010 objects and have them maintained in different language or is it better to maintain as text elements and then get them translated via SE63.

Can some please suggest the best approach with reason for the same?

Hi,

According to me, maintaining the texts in the smartform is the better approach. One reason is the ease of maintainence. Suppose in future you want to change a text then it will be centrally located in your smartform or else you will have to search for the Standard text name and then maintain it. Second reason is the processing time. Maintaining the texts in Smartform will be efficient. If you maintain the Standard text it will be an overhead. Third reason , In case of Standard text approach you will have to create a lot of texts which is tedious and not advisable.
