impact of changing server names in an XI environment

Hi All,

Can some one help me in knowing the impact of changing server names in an XI environment ?

what exchange profile parameters need to be changed if any , what are the risks, what may or may not stop working - can you alias to the old name etc....??

Hi,

There will be some risk invloved for changing the server names in XI.

You need to modify the RFC destinations in sub-sequent Technical & business systems also.

It may stop the working current interfaces. Probably you need to restart the Integration Engien and have to make sure that the related systems have well updated with the new server details.

In XI, ensure that all parameters in Exchange Profile also reflect the same hostname as in SMICM.

In Production Environment its bit risky to make these kind of changes. If there are some Certificates and SSL security have involved then those interface could create the problem.

Probably you need to re-install those Certificates to the integration Engine and modify the trsut relation-ships
