Sales Org and Sales area

In a retail company how many sales orgnaization and sales area can be? Just want to know the general overview of no of distribution channels, divisions and sales organizations in real time projects.

Hi SV,

No of sales organisations are depend upon the business scenario of the company.

But one company code must have one sales org minimum.

Based No of sales organisations , sales areas will be set up

In my one of the project we have three sales organisations,One distribution channel and three divisions.

Nine sales ares we have

hi,

Its even difficult to assume a general overview on the number of distribution channels and divisions since the mapping is totally depenent on the business requirements and distribution process of the products.

however as a guide line we can think may be 3 or 4 distribution channels might be ok to do for big enough business having about 7 or 8 divisions. But still the issue is, its purely a business driven number.

there is another terminology in Retail:

a distribution chain in Retail is a combination of a particular sales organization and distribution channel

the distribution chains for which a plant is allowed to supply goods are defined in Customizing

a plant cannot make any deliveries unless it is assigned to a distribution chain

since divisions are not actively used in Retail, they have no particular meaning in retail and can be considered synonymous with the distribution chain
