Planning Version Refresh

Hi,

In many standard APO programs that update any Planning Book key figures, i see SAP first tries to Initialize the Planning version that they want to update, and also they initialize the timestream objects.

For example, before updating any keyfigure values using the CHANGE_KEYFIGURE BAPI, SAP initializes the planning version and time stream objects first and then uses the BAPI to update the PB.

Some of these Function modules are:

/SAPAPO/TS_LCM_REFRESH Refresh the Planning area and version

/SAPAPO/TS_LCM_INITIALIZE Initialize the CTM

/SAPAPO/TS_DM_REFRESH Timestream refresh for planning area

But, i can achive my requirement of updating the KEY Figures even without doing any initializations/refreshes.

IS there any reason why SAP does this?

Hi Praveen,

unfortunately the depicted problem is not my area of expertise and therefore I'm asking you to post your query in the forum "Supply Chain Management (SCM)" because this forum is monitored by my application colleagues which will be able to answer your questions.

Kind regards
