Dear all,

In Project System Scheduling what are the settings to be done?

1. In Configuration

2. In Settings->Planning Board assistant

3. In settigns -> Options -> Sceduling

Please guide.

Hi Sanjay,

Please check the following answer for your question

1. In Configuration.

Define Time Profile & Link to Define Profile to Project Planning Board.

You can do this under.

IMG>SPRO>PS>>Structure>Project Planning Board.

2. In Setting>Planning Board assistant

This will help you to maintain your own choice of Colors in the Graph chart, Gant Chart, Capacity, Component,Cost/Revenue & MaintOrder.

You can specify your own color to make the chart more attractive.

3. In Schedule you can Change & Maintain the scheduling method for WBS Structure.

Thanks for the reply.

I am using standard time profile: SAPPS_Z001

Standard Planning Profile: 000000000001

How to find Menu path for IMG with Help (F1) I am aware.

Colour Seting is OK.

I want to know actual settings for scheduling.

1. Which Scheduling Scenario to use.

2. Which scheduling type to use, if using Free Scheduling

This is because I am scheduing from

Planning board: Edit->Function->Schedule I am getting OK result.

But scheduling from Project Builder:

Edit->Dates->Schedule it is not giving expected result.

Can you help?

Hi Sanjay,

With the same Profile you can maintain the Scheduling.

In T.Code : OPTY we maintain Evaluation Period & Planning period.

In T.code : OPT7 we maintain Project Planning Profile, where in Diagram area in the bottom Time Profile, Time Scale, Time Scale profile is maintain.

On the left hand side in display all the three option must be checked & maintained non working as X & Original Scheduling as B.

Then in T.code OPSA Project Profile click on tab Plannig board Link the Standard Planning Profile: 000000000001.

Now in Project Builder click Edit->Dates->Schedule.

Note on carring out schedule if there is any error you can check the Log.

Dear Syed,

There is some misunderstanding.

The path to reach configuration, I can find out.

I am aware of it.

I am getting different results for 2 scheduling:

1. Project Builder: Select Network

Edit->Date->Schedule

2. Project Planning Board: Select WBS

Edit->Function->Schedule

Why is the difference?

-->When u talk about scheduling of a project, the following functions are available and u need to make settings for whatever required by u:

Set of Dates,Check Dates,Inherit,Extrapolate,Shift,Planning Different Calenders,Scheduling,Planning Forms.!!

-->In projects with networks, you can use network scheduling to derive the dates of activities and WBS elements automatically.Each time a network is scheduled, the system carries out forward and backward scheduling and determines floats (if activated) and capacity requirements.

-->Scheduling Scenarios: 1.Botom-Up 2. Top-Down

So, now based on your requirements, u need to do the following settings in SPRO:

(A) Project System --> Dates --> Scheduling :

a)Define Scheduling Types

b)Define Time Units

c)Define Reduction Strategies

d)Specify Parameters for Network Scheduling

(B) Project System --> Dates --> Date Planning in WBS

a)Define Parameters for WBS Scheduling

Functions available also I am aware.

I am getting different results when do sceduling:

Why is the different?

Out of this two: 2nd Is close to my requirement.

Please Explain.
