Limit The Length Of Entry In Adobe Offline Form

How can we limit the length of entry in an Adobe offline entry.

In back hand, the RFC takes 20 characters but I want it to limit to 10 characters only without changing RFC.

u can use substring function which is available in the standard function catergory under "text function category".

i meant use substring fucntion in the between the source and target field in the message mapping

so that u sent only 10 characters out from XI

hi

there must be a target field (B) in ur RFC to which u must have mapped a source(A)

say ur source field (A) contains 20 character and in target B u want it 10

so while performin mapping for B use standard funtion "subString" found under the "text function " category.

Starting position will be "0"

number of characters will be "10"

Therefore

source A--> subString function (0,10) -- > TArget B

so in this way only 10 characters will be passed to ur target field.
