Hi All,

We are tyring to Connect Matrikon OPC server(Simulator).

We have configured the UDS and the data Server on the xMII portal. When we check the status in the data servers, the status is comming as Running for that server, but in query template editor when we are tyring to create a new Tag query, the server is giving error as 'Connection Time Out : connnection'

We are having xMII 12.0.

The UDS and OPC server are installed on the same machine and xMII server is installed on the different machine

Please suggest where we might be wrong

Regards

This document might be helpful as it details connecting to the MatrikonOPC Simulation Server:

Connecting to an OPC Server using SAP xMII

OPC – HDA UDS or OPCUDS

Thanks All for your reply

Actually the problem was that the windows firewall was protecting the xMII server to make connection with UDS.

We stopped the firewall services and its working fine now,

Thanks

Rupesh,

The error you are getting is a connection error, meaning the MII server and the UDS can not establish a connection.

Just so I have things right, you have the xMII server in a different machine then the UDS and the UDS is on the machine with the OPC server you with to connect to. I'm assuming you have checked the following:

  • The UDS port and MII data server port are the same.

  • The MII data server machine parameter points to the machine with the UDS (either the IP address or the machine name).

  • The UDS instance is running

  • lastly you are using the 4.0 UDSs.

If this is all correct then please post the log entry (the help file should describe this better).
