Hi Raghavender,

Whenever there is any sort of movement of Material a material document is posted.

Specific to SD when you do PGI (this is where DELIVERY is linked) you move materail from plant so a Material Document is created.

When you move stock using MB1C a materail document is created and so on.

A material Document indicates movement of Material.

You can use MB5B to lok into recently created Material Documents.

Hope it helps

Post for further clarification

Regards

Abhishek

Dear Raghavender

In the Inventory Management system, when a goods movement is posted, a material document is generated that serves as proof of the movement and as a source of information for any applications that follow.

A material document consists of a header and at least one item. The header contains general data about the movement (for example, its date). Each item describes one movement.

thanks

Hi,

When ever a material movement happens there needs a record stating the quantity moved, from which location the material is moved, based on that there will be some accounting entries also will get updated.

Take an example of sales order --> delivery.

When you do a post goods issue for the delivery, the system will generate a material document (you can see it through MB03), which will give you the details about the goods moved from the plant and storage, the movement type used, serial number... etc...

Raghavender,

A material document is created in the R/3 System as proof of a transaction involving stock changes.

The material document consists of a document header and at least one item. The header information includes the posting date and the name of the person who created the document. At item level, the material document records the quantity, the material, and the storage location to which the material is

posted in the associated plant.

Use transaction [MB03] to view a material document
