what are called functional transactions

Hi,

Can anyone telll me about the functional transactions. what activities come under it.

Will the transactions "XK01,XK02,XK03" come under the functional transactions?.

Functional transactions are those used in SAP to support a companies business process e.g XK01, FB01 etc.

Vinod,

Functional transactions are those which are used to create transactional data for the business.

Your example transaction XK01, XK02 and XK03 are used to create vendor details. They belong to the FI (Finance) class.

Similarly most of the transactions that we as BASIS, Security administrators or ABAP consultants use are System transactions and hence start with "S"

examples could be Su01, Stms, SM59, SCC4, SM36, SM63 etc.

Normally all the system transactions should be reserved only for the technical users.
