Dear friends,
kindly let me know how we will configure the number ranges according to the particular sales document type.
eg: zdr
hello, friend.
you do VN01 to define the ranges. do not forget to check 'external assignment' if you want to manually enter number in the document. if not, leave the box blank.
then you do VOV8 and go to your selected order type. assign the number range to your document. there are two assignments: internal and external. assign the range to the correct field.

Hi
Very simple way is create a new number range say 10 : 10000000 - 20000000 at VN01..
assign that number range 10 only to your order type ZDR..
reward if useful

use the path as shown below
Sales and Distribution --> Sales --> Sales Documents --> Sales Document Header --> Define Number Ranges For Sales Documents
On the Number ranges for SD documents screen, choose Change Intervals.
Choose Insert Interval (Shift+F1).

hi,
we can maintain the required number range in VN01 and assign it to the required doc types.
but when you want customized number range you can use user exit, " USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE ".
pl. check with your abaper on how to implement this.
