Backorder

An item has zero quantity as checked in MMBE. Client is expecting that it will go to backorder processing. But upon , performing the availability check all of the quantity for the item in SO was confirmed on a certain date.

how does this situation happen? kindly advise.

Hi,

this will happen as per the Availability check and TOR configuration.. even after activation of availability check if we activate the check with replenishment lead time (RLT) field in OVZ9.. the system will give confirmation on the end of RLT.

So thats the reason why there is a confirmed quantity although there were no stock.

But the material is supposed to be on the list of backorder items? why doesn't it happen?

Why is it that upon checking on the availability overview no backorder is seen on such item? please help.

as you told since the item has zero quantity upon doing availability check, the system depending on backward /forward scheduling would have calculated that the requested qty can be available only on a certain date and thus confirmed that date.

to rephrase my question: Client expected that material M in sales order XX would be on Backorder Analysis List because there was no stock of M in plant P.

However, it was not on the list.

Please advise.
