Installation OF ECC 6

We are in the process of installation of SAP ECC 6.0 system. OS: RHEL5, DB : MaxDB. Solution Manager is already present in the physical server.

We are installaing ECC as a second instance on our physical server.

While installing ECC sapinst is not asking for MaxDb installation directory.

Where will the database software for Maxdb will be installed?

Also it is not asking for if Database should be MCOD or not.

If your Solution Manager is running under MaxDB then the installation will share the same DB, basically the new system will create a new instance in the Database.

If SM is running under a different DB and you want to install the ECC under MaxDB then you'll need to install the DB as part of the implementation.

Usually i avoid having two different DB's running in the same box.

Where will the database software for Maxdb will be installed?

I presume it will be installed on your harddrives... hehehe (couldn't resist)
