Service username too long???

Hi gurus,

I'm installing NW2004s on Oracle 10.2 (patched to 10.2.0.2) and Windows 2003. During install I got following error:

ORA-20000: Service username too long: max length is 30

ORA-06512: at line 23

It seems that actually my O$<domain>\sapservice<sid> username has 31 characters (long domainname). What can I do? I can't change domain name and my installation is stuck

Need just one more char (my domain/username has 31 chars). Can I change it in ORADBUSR.SQL? Or is it table field that limits it?

your servername must not exceed 12 characters on Windows, and not 13 or Unix.

Same goes for your domain name. There is an OSS note about this. Sap note 314671.

Fortunatelly it was just 1 char and setting os_authent_prefix='' solved my problem.

Thx!!!
