RFC authentication problem

Former Member

Hi all,

We have created a RFC connection from NetWeaver04 (non unicode) to NetWEaver2004s (unicode). The configuration is correct and the connection test works fine. We are using a dialog user created in NetWeaver2004s with the password correctly.

When we make a remote logon it always ask about user and password. How can configurate it to avoid this issue?.

Thanks and regards,

Maxi.

Thanks for your answers,

At the same time I found some notes that resolve the problem. This are:

Hello Maximino,

You can declare the 2004s system as a trusted system as Juan has already suggested or if you are not comfortable with the idea of declaring the system as trusted,

create

a user of type SYSTEM or COMMUNICATION and furnish these details in the RFC connection.

The difference between a system user and a communication user is that the password expires in a communication user but the same does not happen in a system user.

Also be careful with communication users (especially in Production systems) because SAP charges for it.

Also, i might be asking a silly question, but can check that in the RFC connection, the check box "current user" is not ticked? It should only be ticked if you want the system to ask you for a username/password everytime you try to establish a connection.

Hello,

If you check the current user check box then SAP will try to login into target system using the same user id/password as in the source system login. Since this user id/password comnbination may or may not exist in target system so not a good option.

I have one question. Can you successfully login into the target system via SAPgui using the user id /password combination that you are supplying in the RFC destination.

Thanks by your help, but:

We don't want to have a trusted system. We have correctly configured the user and the password and we need to make a remote logon without the system ask about the user and the password.

The password is an alphanumeric word and it doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Thanks and regards.

MMmm...

Check that the systems are set to be downwards compatible or use a password of less than 8 caracters without uppercase and try again.
