Changes in specification of Inspection Lot

Dear QM Masters,

I have following questions regarding Released Inspection Lot:

1) Can we change characteristics in released inspection lot? By changing I mean changing number of sample to be inspected, changing lower/upper limit of characteristics. Because some time (periodic/surprise quality check) stringent quality checking may be required as compare to normal inspection. And as no logical relation can be maintained for this, don’t want to use dynamic modification functionality.

2) Can we re-read inspection specification for inspection lot once inspection lot is released?

3) Can we have usage decision for partial inspection lot resulted from inspection point functionality?

Any solution regarding above mentioned questions will be appreciated with points.

Hi ,

You can use QAC3 for Insp-lot Reset sample calculation.

As far as Changing limit is concerned , you can have seperate insp plan with this new char's and assign this plan whenever you require, after resetting the sample size.

If you are in Ecc 6.0 check with Multiple specifications , i have not worked on that yet.

Can you explain in brief how to change sample size of released inspection lot using QAC3. And is it possible to have UD for partial inspection lot?

Hi Devang,

Goto QAC3 , Select the lot and save it .

It will reset the sample calculation & lot status will be changed to CRTD status.

Go to QA02,

Depends upon your settings in Matl master for that matl , if your inspection specifications is from Task list / Matl spec , it will take sample size from the sampling procedure defined over there.

If your inspection is without TL / Matl spec and if you have choosen Manual sample calculation , then in this case you can change sample qty maually after resetting the sample calculation.

After changing , once you save , lot status will be changed to REL status.

Pl refer the help tips provided by SAP

• For an inspection with a task list or material specification*

The system calculates the sample based on the sampling procedure that is defined in the task list or material specification at inspection characteristic level.

If no sampling procedure is defined and no sampling procedure is proposed in the default values at plant level, the system uses the inspection lot size as the sample size.

For an inspection without a task list or material specification

You can perform a 100% inspection or calculate the sample size on the basis of an inspection percentage. For this, you must either set the indicator for a 100% inspection in the inspection setup of the material master (quality management view), or define an inspection percentage greater than zero.

If you do not choose any of these options, the system sets the sample size to zero.
