Hi Friends

Can any one please guide me how can we achieve transport of objects from our development system to Production system.

Our landscape is just development -

> Production

there is no Quality system in between.

PI System is on AIX and oracle database with SP9.

We dont want to go for file transport in which we import the .tpz file and all that..

Is there any other way out ?

Please guide .

points will surely be rewarded

Thanks

There are 2 menthod to do the IR and ID transports

1. File system

2. CMS ( Change managment service) if you dnt want the file system then the only option left out is CMS

Please check this links

Try with this

Hi,

Simple example is inproject we always follow naming convension and we create business system with Test_Dev for dev system similarly for Qa test_QA.

So whicle transporting the business system from DEV to QA we need to maintained the same naming convension.

thats why we create business system groups in which ur source system will be dev and target will be QA so when u transport BS from DEV to QA automatically test_Dev will replace by test_QA.

Follow the below guidelines:

Transport mechanism

1. Create Technical System and Business Systems for the QA system.

2. Create Transport Groups in the Business System.

3. Create Transport Targets in the Source Business SYstem.

Check the link for:

Configuring Transport Groups and Tranport Targets

Hi Chirag

See we dont have a central SLD that means for both dev and prod they have different SLD and the CMS is installed on the Dev system.

We have done nothing in the Production system regarding creation of Business system groups or nothing of that sort.

Do we have to configure the SLD of production system also before doing the export using CMS.

Thanks

Hi Sharma,

This has to be done in Dev system and u need to follow the steps so that same will be replicated to Prod system as well.

1) Set different transport targets for the required business systems which are used in the scenario objects (ID) of developments. It is just assigning the business system of development to another business system of PRD, which is just the replica of dev BS.

2. Export the SLD objects from the development to PRD SLD.So no need to configure the SLD in prod.

Thnx

Hi Sharma,

U can go with CMS transport method. In ur case it will be Dev to PROC rather than QA

Please refer the below two weblog for understanding the transport methods.

Overview of Transition from Dev to QA in XI

Two types of transport mechanism are used in PI.

• File transport method.

• CMS transport method.

File transport method:

CMS transport method:
