the idea about creating multiple catalogues ist the following:
If you are using these in QM or PM notifications you can assign tasks to the notification.
Accordingly you would like to create different Katalogs for PM and QM and in detail you would also like to distinguish between the various notification types.
Furthermore you might also be interested in creating catalogs which are used in certain plants if you have more than one plant.
I would recommend also reading the documentation in the implementation guide.
