Hi,
First of all go to this url:
http://<servername>:<port>/sld
Administration-->Content Maintenance
Now remove all the entries for the system that you created from (all the entries with the system ID for your backed system)
Application system instance
BC Application server
BC Client
BC Message Server
BC System
Computer System
Global Unique Identifier
Installed System
Installed Software Component
TCP/IP Server Port.
Now, make these entries
SID == system id of your backed system (3 digit aphanumeric)
MESG SEVER PORT ===36<instance number>
to add application server
application host name == Don't add anyting over here. Click Next
application instance number == <instance number>
client number ==<client number>
logical client name ==Not mandatory

What you are asking about ?
creating Technical System
or creating JCo
Please specify your need.
You can't proceed without host, instances in technical system creation wizard.
If you are creating JCo for an existing R/3( which has a working JCo right now), you have to check the JCo connections and technical systems.
If NOT, check your sap message server entry is in your services file.
this reply is to what i understood from your question. tell me if you have any query
regards,
nikhil
i want to use jco
but for that we need to create a techinical system
i followed these steps for techinical system
1 Step
selected web as abap
2nd step
sid = PRD
installation number== INITIAL
database host name== super
3rd step
message server name = 3600+instance
i took system number from sap gui(21)
so i gave 3600+21=3621
central application sever
instance number ==21
next pressed button -->add new logon group
entered longon group == entered value
which i found in t-code -smlg
4th Step
Add application server
host == gave r/3 ip 198.168.0.2
instance==21
client number = 800
logical client = left it empty
5 th step
selected one componenet and finished
-
after this i created the jco
1st Step general data
name =test1
client=800
2nd step j2ee cluster
checked the box
use local j2ee engine
3rd step
selected dictionary meta data
4 th
selected the techinical system
5th
user name -->sapuser
pasww-->india
pressed finish
now i found the jco in green color
but i pinged it
i got mesg
ping failed
hi samyuktha!
in Tech.System check for these :-
1. database server: host (system name)
2. 3rd step
In t-code SMLG, You have to check Group name assignment "ext-RFC enabled" checked.
- you can check your group is working fine by following command
- go to sap GUI installation directory using command prompt
sapgui /M/<host>/S/3621/G/<GROUP_NAME> and hit enter. This will open sapgui.
3. 4th step
Logical client: <SID>CLNT800
4. 5th step
Choose product: SAP WEB AS 6 or 7 which ever latest version available, and you can choose all SWC from the right column.
JCo Connection:-
1. be specific on naming conventions
eg: WD_<your_string>_RFC_METADATA_DEST
WD_<your_string>_MODELDATA_DEST
2. choose J2EE server from the list
you can find similar like J2EE on <host name>
3.
3.1) for METADATA, it is application and select single server from the right
-> Application server will be available in the dropdown list.
it is a combination of <host><sid><instance> separated by underscore.
once it is created, do a test. it will be okay.
If it gives error testing application data, go to R/3 and run this report rsrzllg0_actual without checking FRC_SAV option.
again check your JCo destination.
3.2) for MODELDATA, choose dictionary and do the rest of things as above (ignore single/Load balancing)
It needs message server entry in your services file. check for sapms<SID> 3621\tcp entry in services file else put that entry.
regards,
nikhil
