Hi,
I want to start installation of PI but i have the NW2004s DVD's and ERP2005 only .
This is the first time for me to install PI, so I have a missunderstanding on this issue .
My XI consultant is asking for PI 7.1, i don't know i will get this if i installed the PI component during installation NW2004s or i have to get new PI software.
I checked on the service.sap.com/swdc i can't see NW for PI7.1
please help
Thanks
Sherif
Hi,
You Can't Install PI 7.1 Version with NW2004s.
This is the Later Version to PI 7.0 which is not yet released for use.
Look into these details

Hi Guys,
I installed the PI 700, during the installation i selected to register to existing SLD "Solution Manger "
now during the post installation steps i found things relate
to the SLD, i don't know where should i do it .
is it on the SLD of the solution manager or where?
could you please tell me exactly where should i do these steps?
Thanks
Sherif
When you select Register to existing SLD that means your SLD is present already.....as you have mentioend the SLD of solution Manager right?
This means you are mainting the centraelized SLD for all the systems and if you want to configure XI to that SLD then Direct it to that SLD.
Since tou have slected register to exosting SLD.. goto Rz70 and point to that SLD and proceed.
Can you open the SLD assocaited with SM and check once you do the Rz70, your XI systems should appear s technical system under th webasABAP in that..
Dear Nisar,
The PI system since the installationwas finished and it is appeared there in the central SLD ,
my question now:- where should run the wizard-based basic configuration for SAP NetWeaver usage type PI?
and should i run it manually or using the wizerd?
i tried to run it on the central SLD system but it failed with
"Error: Not able to load Function SWF_XI_BPM_AUTO_CUSTOMIZE (cause:'user' missing).
Step: Execute SWF_XI_BPM_AUTO_CUSTOMIZE "
Thanks
Sherif
Thanks Nisar for your support,
I'm following the post installation steps mentioned at NW2004s installation Guide .
i'm in the step Running the Configuration Wizard there is limitations for this step descriped in note 923359.
My question is
on which system should i run this steps " on the PI system" or "on the central SLD system"?
I tried to run
"PI_00_This wizard will execute Postinstall steps of technical configuration for the PI Usage"
on the central SLD system not on the PI system and got errors missing user.
thanks
Sherif
Hi,
How do you solve this problem? I0m having the same issue when trying to execute the Configuration Wizard in the Central SLD.
Error: Not able to load Function SWF_XI_BPM_AUTO_CUSTOMIZE (cause:'user' missing).
I do have execute all the steps in the PI server but still don't have the Technicall System "Adapter Engine" in the SLD.
Thanks in advance
Rodrigo

With the 2004s DVD you can go for the PI7.0 with ECC6 and other componets if you need to get pi7.1 then you should be rampup customer with SAP and then you can get it i belive..
For, PI7.1 you have to either subscripe from SDN or approach to SAP.

Oofficially the PI7.1 product is not completely launched in the market for implementation.
For migration from PI 7.0 to PI 7.1 below document will be helpful
