Hi ,

1. In Run in windows , type 'drivers' .

2. Go to folders 'etc'

3. Open the hosts file in notepad and modify it as per ur server name and its related IP address.

Hope this helps

http://<HOSTNAME>:<JAVAPORT>/rep/start/index.jsp

If your instance number of installation is 00 the Java Port 50000

make sure the driver file in the following path is updated

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\host

open the host file in the notepad and enter

IPADDRESS HOSTNAME

Hi,

http://<host-name or IP address of XI server>:<java Port number)>/rep/start/index.jsp

here replace the host name and port details in above link for e.g.

If this is successful that means your J2EE server and services are fucntioning fine. The problem could then be on the ABAP stack.

Start visual admin tool and check that all the services are running. You might have to manually start those which have not automatically started. Check the connectivity with all system & server (inc n/w) & Register the hostserver entry in your sys32/ host file

e.g 10.2.4.56 <server name>

To start the visual admin tool refer

Hi,

There are number of ways to do that :

1. Try this url

http://<host-name or IP address of XI server>:<java Port number)>/rep/start/index.jsp

If this is successful that means your J2EE server and services are fucntioning fine. The problem could then be on the ABAP stack.

2. Can you start visual admin tool and check that all the services are running. You might have to manually start those which have not automatically started. Check the connectivity with all system & server (inc n/w) & Register the hostserver entry in your sys32/ host file

e.g 10.2.4.56 <server name>

3. Have you download java sdk 1.4 on you laptop?

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

also have a look at this sap note: 801868

(make sure not to install the 1.5 version of JWS. XI does not work properly with the 1.5 version)

4. Lastly, u might have some problem with ur JRE installation. In that case i would sugesst you to re-install JRE/ Java WebStart.

This blog may help you to analyze the errors-

Make sure the following points are done, it will work then

1. You have installed J2sdk 1.4.2 series and set the Envinorment variable JAVA_HOME with the path of the instaled directory.

if you have installed 1.4.5 this version is bit inconsistent so remove it and intall 1.4.2

2. The host file is updated with the proper IP and host name cross check this once again....

with this 2 options you should be able to open the IB screen ( with out 1st point also) once you have opened the IB screes the option 1 will open your IR and ID.
