HTTP Request to XI3.0 via SM59 does not RECEIVE Response.

Hi,

when trying to establish a HTTP-connection from an ERP-System (WAS 6.40) to the XI3.0 via SM59 (Using the Test-Tool), I don't RECEIVE an answer from the XI3.0

Opening the Connection: is working.

Setting the header fields and methods: is working.

Sending the dummy message: is working.

RECEIVING a response: system does not react.

What to do? My settings look like this:

Zielmaschine = IP-Adress of XI3.0

Pfadpräfix = /sap/xi/engine?type=entry

Servicenumber = 8000

Who can provide help? Thanks in advance, Peter.

Hi ,

Is the service number correct? You can check that this is the same as the HTTP service on the XI box.

SMICM -> GOTO (Menu) -> Services. Check the port for the HTTP service.

Yes, the service number is the same. When I post a message using WebFetch on XI3.0, everything works out correctly.

Something must be wrong with settings around the sending system?! Peter.

Hi,

Have you defined an HTTP connection of type H ? Can you tell me what the other settings are?

Cheers

Yes, I defined the SM59 connection H.

The other settings are:

Target Host = IP-Address of SAP XI3.0

Servicenumber = 8000

Path-Präfix = /sap/xi/engine?type=entry

No HTTP-Proxy options

Login: User and Password are entered.

SSL deactivated.

Timeout in msec = 900

HTTP 1.0-Version.

Hi Peter,

forget it, if everything is going allright with wfetch, the reason cannot be at XI.

Hi Guys ,

Because the destination from client 20 to Integration Server is running it can't be a problem with configuration of XI.

in my opinion it is a network problem or some problems with the Sending ERP System.

you test also to make a destination from other R/3 systems like CRM right?

and nothing works?

Test to send a Message from this server with wfetch, if this will not work.. it must be a network problem.

Hi my dears,

the problem is solved. It is necessary to activate the ICM-Monitor (and the services) on THE SENDING SYSTEM. To do so take transaction SMICM -> Menu "Administration".

Thanks for your help! Peter.

Hi Peter,

you just only used that test button? You should test with a real message. What content did you send with fetch? What do you want? ABAP proxys? Generate a very simple outbound proxy and call like described in documentation with a small abab program. Receiver determination in first step not neccessary.
