Number Range in SUS doubt

Former Member

Hey all,

Working in SRM 5.0, ECC 6.0,SUS 3.0.

My question revolves around the PDP-SUS (SUS-MM) scenario specifically with the number ranges:

-In the config document,it states to configure the number ranges for the following local documents:

-PO

-PO Confirmation (PO Response)

-SUS shipping notification (ASN)

-Confirmation (GR)

-IV.

Do these number ranges have to be similar as in the back end?In this case,ECC?

What are the back-end number range config settings that one has to do then?

Points will be duly awarded.

Thanks...

Jack

Hi,

There is no need to have the same Number ranges as the Object id in the ERP & the SUS are

not the same as it is not a case of replication.

This is a case of creation of a SUS PO which contains the data of the erp PO.

-Then what is the significance of the SUS PO number range?PO's are always created in ECC(in my scenario). Is the sales order number using the 'SUS PO number range' for the incoming PO?

Also,

When supplier creates a confirmation in SUS(number from local confirmation number range in SUS) and sends--it creates a Goods Receipt(GR) document in SAP MM.Therefore, the confirmation number in SUS and the GR number created in MM are going to be different. Is that right?

Same stands true for invoice as well.

Can you please clarify?

Thanks for the replies,guys!

Jack

ps:- i will certainly reward points when i close the thread.

Yes ,

The document Numbers in Both the systems (MM) and (SUS) are different.

this implies to all the documents that flow from one side to another.

But there will be link available between this document numbers on Both systems.

So Having Different document number on different systems will not create any problem.

Sorry for the delay in responding back.Almost all my questions have been answered...some points also given.

Khan....can you clarify briefly to the following:

-Is ASN,confirmation and IV possible when we have an extended classic scenario?

If not, what use is the EBP-SUS scenario?Once the PO is sent over to SUS,the communication ends.

Or

Is it possible for SUS to send the ASN,GR and IV to ECC after receiving the PO

from SRM EBP (because in the ECS scenario, that is where the follow-on docs are being created)?

Also,do we have to configure the number range for sales order in SUS system?

I have already assigned 6 points to the question...4 more to be taken.:-)

Thanks a lot.

hi,

I am very sorry for the delay in replying.

please refer to the OSS notes 700350 , 543544 , 1028264

which gives full details of all deployment possibilities for SUS and also gives details of what all follow on documents can be created in different technical scenarios...

Hi,

Only for PO you can have same number range as ECC , but other documents are only for SUS, you have to create local SUS number range.

Let me know for more information.

Thank you
