hi

do we need to restart the was java , after assigning some new roles to a user ? or is there any background job kind of thing to make the assigned jobs effective without restarting the entire java server?

No , u dont need to restart the webas java at all. The assigned roles became effective as soon as it is being assigned to the user, since u must have clicked on the user comparison icon in the transaction- pfcg

which activates the roles to be used by user .

Also ,no need to go for back ground activity.

Hi Akhil,

Normally if you assign any roles to sapjsf user and also to the j2ee_admin user you need a restart, you also need a restart when you activate and deactivate sap* user. If you are assigning roles to any other users then there is no point in restarting the system.

It should be effective strait away... no need to restart.

As the user to logoff and logon again.

IIf you need to restart SAP for such things then I guess you would be spending a fair bit of your working time doing this. I mean SAP would loose its utility for your users.

As Juan pointed out no need for restart at all.
