Include attachments in a xml file without using mail adapter

Hello Experts,

Is there a way to include attachments like pdf or excel in a xml file?

It is a file to file scenario in which i have to include the attachment in the output file.

Hi,

You can do this By using the Transport protocol as NFS

If u select ur TP as NFS means

you will be able to see One option Additional File(s)

Check wth that option

Check with this SAP-Help file

Hi,

I tried doing what is written in the help document. Is that the only setting that i have to do? I have kept the file in the same directory as the source file and added the name in the additional parameters, but it doesn't get picked up. How do i pick up this file?

And secondly is it necessary that it will work only with NFS? I'm trying to use FTP here. The option is available even when the Transport protocol is FTP.

How do i proceed?

Hi Seshagiri,

After I tired using it for NFS protocol, this is the error I get:

*Error: com.sap.aii.af.service.util.ChainedException: Error during scan of value '“.xml“=“.pdf“ ' for parameter 'AdditionalFile1.namePart' ( format must be "originalNamePart"="additionalNamePart") - fix configuration: java.util.NoSuchElementException*

What exactly am I supposed to give here?

I think the files will be sent as separate files along with the target file according to this blog. My query is whether it can be sent as an attachment in the target file.

It is not possible to send the PDF as an attachment in another file format. At the max you can deliver them but not inside some file
