control connection to the FTP Timed Out

I m getting following error in RWB:

com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: The control connection to the FTP server timed out while reading the server reply.: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx:

What is control connection?

How to solve this?
