SAP Online Documentation Installation

Hello,

I installed the SAP online documentation. My Server OS is UNIX.

In transaction SR13 as well as in the file "sapdoccd.ini", the path of the online documentation is /usr/sap/trans/sap_help/online_help/helpdata/

However, through SAP GUI, when we try to look for help(Help-->SAP Library) it looks for :

/usr/sap/trans/sap_help/online_help/helpdata/EN\e1\8e345...\frameset.htm

The problem is with '/' and '\' i.e. slash and backslash

Why is SAP looking for the path with '\'??

Can I replace this '\' with '/' somewhere in SAP GUI??

Hi Gautam,

You have to install the help on your front end also, if it will check in the front end and then it will check the SR13 path.

The system takes '\' .BUt the settings in the SR13 must be maintained.

I do not want to install the Help files on each and every frontend machine.

If I do that, I do not need install the Help on a central server at all.

Besides, the purpose of installing the Help on a central server is to avoid the manual labour of installing the Help on each and every frontend PC.

If you'r corporation have a network drive (shared for example T:\ ) for all customers, you can put the help there.

SAP GUI is looking for the online \.....\..\framset.htm because

in the T.code sr13 it is looking for the help.sap.com.

U can delete the Variant specified under the PlaneHtmlHTTP tab and

it wont look for help.sap.com website.

And check the variants you mentioned under the HTMLHelp tab.

If you have found the solution, please let me know i am currently working on that.
