HI
difference betweenFix value ,valuemapping and valuemapping group
These are the Standard API provided in Graphical mapping under
Function Category: Conversions
FixValues
It is used to executes a value mapping using a fixed value tables that you need to fill-up. when you drag the API in Graphical editor and double click on it, it will open the table where you need to give the fixed values which need to be mapped at runtime with provided values on right hand side. The table is saved together with the most current message mapping and can only be used once.

Value Mapping
A perticular object/field could have different interprtations from applications to applications and Business to Business. For e.g Suppose a particular document XYZ has an identity code 001 in one application or may be in one orgnization. But the same document could have different ID in different applications.
With the help of Value Mapping you could map these IDs with each other, thus while transaction of the data XI will act as an smart mapper to pass the Application specific values.

There are many docs available about Value mapping in SDN forum.

Value Mapping Group
GUID is the Unique Indentification for a value mapping group. You can also assign a name to a value mapping group. This does not have to be unique.
Select Value mapping group selected by -> Representation. Enter the agency, scheme and one of the source values. You will be taken to the Diplay value mapping group screen wherein you can edit the value mapping group and add more than one source values for a single target value.
Value Mapping Group editor contains below info:
1. The ID (GUID), name, and description of the group.
2.Value Mapping table in the work area for each representation:
Agency
Identification scheme
Value
The system displays the GUID if you have not assigned a name to the group.

Hi,
Refer the below thread which has all the relevent weblog for better understanding.
Value mapping are of two types:
1) Fixed value mapping:
in this u assign the input and corresponding output values in fixed value mapping function in IR graphical mapping.
For example if u have inputs 1,2 ans 3 and u need the corresponding values of output as MrX,Mr.Y and Mr.Z so u use fixed value mapping function.
2) Value mapping:
Use
An object can have different representations, depending on the context in which it is used.
For example, the person Mr. Smith has a particular customer number as a customer of mail order company A and has a particular employee number as an employee of company B. Both numbers refer to the same person.
You use the value mapping function to map different representations of an object to each other. You save the mapping rules for different objects in a value mapping table.
