Dear Rahul,
From the fallowing situation you can come to know use of scheduleline in Inquiry.
A customer inquires whether company have a certain product in copmpany warehouse, how much it will cost, or whether the product will be available for a certain date.
-->When the customer want the detailes about availability of the product for a perticuler date ,Inquiry should have schedule lines, based on this only he will come to know the availability date.
-->The inquiry is a request from the customer for company to provide him with a sales quotation.
I hope it will clear for you
Thanks,
Murali.

Dear Friend,
If you happen to see the schedule line assigned to the enqiiry it is not relavant for Delivery.
The logic behind the Schedule line cat assigned to enquiry is to pass the requirement to MRP.
For the Copy Control from the Inquiry to quotation and to Sales order.
