Hi heros,
I hope one of you can help me.
I worked with SAP Gui 6.20 sometimes in the client network with SAP. And I try to work now from home via VPN in the same system. BUT I got always an SAP Logon error after about 3 Sec. "Connection to host 172.XX.X.44, service sapdp20 timed out".
BUT I had connection to the client network, because I get access to e.g. the clients mailserver.
I tried also ping the SAP servers and it failed.
BUT just the SAP servers not other servers in the client environment via VPN.
Does someone know a solution???
It's very important to get also from other networks access to SAP via VPN.
Thanks a lot!!
Hi,
DNS (Domain Name System) is an integral part of Client/Server Communication in IP-Network. DNS is a distributed data base system, that is used to translate Computer name to an IP-Address in an IP-Network. Windows 2000 based Clients used the DNS services. Clients older than Windows 2000 (Windows 98, NT 4.0) used for Network communication the NetBIOS-Name. For this clients it can be used the WINS "method", that is the equivalent of DNS.
Best regards,
GP

With VPN, I think you will have to use a SapRouter for access.
