LABEL text properties

Hi,

I m trying to add a text for my label but when i key in a string under the properties "text", it will be reset to blank.

Any reason why the program is behaving likewise.

My application is a DC.

Try to save the project immideately after entering the text.

It doesn't work. The strange thing is that it works for some Dcs and not for others. Is there any configuration to be done ?

Hi,

The problem in your case is that you might have set lableFor property of that lable to UI element and you might have bounded that ui element to context attribute of some simple type in dictionary.

Fot that simple type if you go to the Representation tab,you will find Field Lable property.This represents the lable for that UI element.Give the lable there.

The label is not bind to any context.

I find it strange to behave likewise.

What i have tried to do is edit the XLF file but it did not help much. Any idea how to fix this problem ?

Hi,

Once it happened to me too when our entire DC was translated, after that any changes made in the properties sheet was not getting reflected.

I used to modify the respective .xlf files by searching the ID to resolve this.

Hi Ayyapparaj,

Actually i just migrated to Netweaver 2004s and i m having this problem. The strange thing is that when i modify the XLF file directly, it is somehow a bit inconsistent. Like example when i add a new label, sometimes i dont see the respective entry in the XLF file and i m sure i m looking at the correct XLF file.

Any idea why such behaviour ?

Hi,

Check the Labefor Property of label. try to select <blank<>> for label.

I did check the labelFor property for each of my label but still no entry is created in the XLF file. Any idea what could be wrong ?

Hi,

As you mentioned that you have migrated to 2004s, just give a try by

Select your project

Right click->Repair and project structure and class path.

Remove orphened texts (I havent used it)

Hi guys,

I have followed all you instructions.

I managed to see the entries in the XLF file but after editing the text message of the file and save it and then rebuild the project and redeploy the application, the text does not appear on the screen.

What appears instead is this text "created in [en]>:".

Any clue how to make the changes take effect ?

Hi,

It seems like the WD is working perfectly, its picking based on the locale.

Ask your translating team to do a round of trnanslation for the DC.
