i hope this error is in import abap phase?

check whether you find any .bck files in your installation directory. if found then reply with that file name.

Hi Raghubalan

ORA-04031: unable to allocate 4108 bytes of shared memory

I guess you set your db memory too low (< 1gb). This is resulting in your shared_pool_size beeing too small. Try to increase it and retry.

To check the actual setting:

C:\Documents and Settings\sidadm>sqlplus "/ as sysdba"

SQL> show parameter shared_pool_size
NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- -----------------------
shared_pool_size                     big integer 318767104

To change it to a higher value, procedure can be different if sga_target/sga_max_size is used.

SQL> alter system set shared_pool_size = 400M scope = both;

If scope = both does not work, then use scope = spfile and restart your database.

As specified above...

Use command:

sqlplus "/as sysdba"

You can also change the size of shared_pool_size directly on the oracle spfile.
