How to perform backup with DB13

Hi all

I am Oracle DBA i am new to SAP i want to take backup of database to local disk as well as remote system and i have to scheduleit please let me know how to perform these tasks

1. manually what i have to do ( startup or shutdown )

2. How to work with tape as well as disk backup ( remote and local)

Please it's very urgent

Hi,

this forum is meant for MaxDB, SAP DB or liveCache issues, not Oracle.

But in any case, DB13 is probably similar in all cases. When calling this transaction, one is presented with a calendar. To schedule a backup, simply doubleclick on an empty line from any day/time (today or in the future).

Then choose the appropriate action, in your case a backup. You will then be prompted for the backup medium to be used. That means you've already had to define thos backupmedia on the DB level. It is there that you specify if your backup will be done to either local or remote disc or tape.
